In 1997, Porsche released a new vehicle into the market. This was the Boxster. While other previous cars had been derided as pseudo-Porsches, this was not the case with the Boxster. It was greeted by fans from San Francisco CA to Philadelphia PA as being a true member of the family.

The launch of the Porsche Boxster was successful. It was a more affordable sports car for the time.
