While the idea riding in a private charter helicopter may make many people feel worried, you should not let that discourage you from experiencing what could be one of the most memorable rides of your life. In fact, the United States Helicopter Safety Team (USHST) states that helicopter accident rates have been dropping in the last decade or so, according to Flying Magazine. If it is your first time ever getting into a helicopter, here are some tips on how to prepare for a smooth and comfortable journey.

What You Can Do Before the Flight Begins
Even if you may have some daredevil tendencies, it is best to follow your pilot’s advice at all times as he or she has been trained to operate the aircraft even in the worst conditions. Even before the flight, listen carefully during the initial orientation so that you know what to do in case of an emergency. Pay attention to where they store the floatation devices as well as the first aid kits, and always fasten your seatbelt for your own safety.

What You Can Do During the Flight Itself
When it is your first time flying in an aircraft, it can be a very nerve-wracking experience. There are a few ways you can calm yourself, such as doing a lot of deep breathing instead of holding your breath due to fear. You could also chat up the passenger sitting next to you so that you can distract yourself from the constant motions of the helicopter.

Though it may be difficult at first to get used to the different movements a helicopter may make, you should be able to get used to it after some time. Remember that your pilot is a trained professional and will always know what to do to help you in any situation.  You can connect with them on Facebook for more updates!
